It is the purpose of the Douglas County Jail division to house inmates in accordance with state law while maintaining a safe environment for both inmates and staff. They currently house an average daily population of 740+ inmates. This inmate population is comprised of pre-trial inmates as well as both county and state sentenced inmates. There are currently 84 deputies and certified corrections officers working in the jail division.
Of these 740+ inmates, they currently have 110 inmates assigned to the Trustee Program. They have 20 females and 90 males on various work crews that work throughout this county. They also use this inmate labor inside our kitchen and laundry as well as utilizing them for janitorial duties throughout the jail facility.
